The Implementation Path of the “Three Entrances” Teaching Work of the Multilingual Edition of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China

Abstract

In the new era, China is increasingly approaching the center of the world stage, and the international community's attention to China continues to rise. How to “tell China's stories well and spread China's voice well” to the world, and present a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view of China, has become an important issue facing the field of foreign language education. Against this backdrop, in early 2020, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Education jointly organized and launched the pilot work of introducing the multilingual edition of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China “into campuses, textbooks, and classrooms” (hereinafter referred to as the “Three Entrances”). As an authoritative work that centrally showcases the latest achievements in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China not only provides fundamental principles for state governance but also offers authoritative ideological guidance and rich corpus resources for cultivating foreign language talents in the new era. Foreign language universities shoulder the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and cultivating a contingent of first-class foreign language talents. The comprehensive rollout of the “Three Entrances” work is a major strategic deployment designed to meet the demands of building international communication capacity in the new era and deepening foreign language education reform. It reflects the nation's urgent need to cultivate high-quality, cross-cultural foreign language talents who possess both a deep love for the country and a broad international vision.
