Abstract

Against the backdrop of regional development shifting from factor-driven growth to value-driven and differentiated competition, how traditional culture can be transformed into tangible industrial momentum has become a critical issue in the cultivation of regional characteristic industries. From the perspective of cultural capital transformation, this paper constructs an analytical framework of “assetization of cultural resources–productization of cultural assets–branding of cultural products” to systematically examine the mechanisms and pathways through which traditional culture empowers regional characteristic industries. The study argues that traditional culture does not inherently possess industrial attributes; rather, its empowering effects depend on whether cultural resources are assetized through institutional identification and property-rights clarification, whether cultural assets are productized through creative translation and industrial design, and whether stable value circulation is achieved through branding and market integration. On this basis, the paper further summarizes major practical pathways, including IP-oriented and branding-based development, scenario-based and experiential development, community-based and lifestyle-oriented development, as well as digital and intelligent development. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of traditional culture industrialization and provide theoretical reference for the cultivation of regional characteristic industries.
