Research on Augmented Reality-Based Music Interactive Experience Technology and Application Trends

Augmented reality enables the real-time superimposition of virtual information onto physical environments, integrating visual, auditory, and interactive content to form new modes of musical experience and expression. In recent years, advances in computer vision, multimodal fusion, spatial audio processing, and human–computer interaction have driven a shift in musical content from linear dissemination toward immersive and interactive participation. This study analyzes augmented reality-based music experiences from four dimensions: technical foundations, application scenarios, interaction mechanisms, and industrial ecology. It examines the roles of visual tracking, spatial mapping, rendering fusion, and audio interaction in musical contexts, and reviews the development pathways of augmented reality in concert performance, virtual idol presentation, music education and training, immersive exhibitions, and content platforms. Findings indicate that augmented reality enhances contextual expressiveness, expands the spatial scope and application dimensions of music, and fosters new modes of engagement. However, challenges remain regarding standardization, hardware costs, content production, and business models. With the advancement of spatial computing, multimodal artificial intelligence, and virtual performance technologies, augmented reality is expected to become a key driver of interactive music experiences and cultural content innovation.
