In high-density urban crowd gathering scenarios, elevators, as the core carrier of vertical transportation, make handrails a high-risk contact interface for cross-transmission of bacteria and viruses. Traditional elevator handrail disinfection methods rely on manual wiping and regular spraying, which suffer from low efficiency, numerous disinfection blind spots, poor sustainability, and high labor costs. These methods can no longer meet the requirements of modern public health safety prevention and control. This paper focuses on the integration of intelligent disinfection technology and elevator handrail scenarios, systematically expounds the design principle, technical architecture, functional modules and application advantages of the intelligent disinfection and sterilization system for elevator handrails. By comparing practical data between traditional and intelligent disinfection modes, it analyzes the application effects of intelligent disinfection equipment in public buildings, rail transit, commercial complexes, hospitals and other scenarios, explores the technical bottlenecks and optimization paths in current industry development, and prospects the future development trend of intelligent disinfection and sterilization for elevator handrails. Research shows that intelligent elevator handrail disinfection technology can achieve fully automatic, uninterrupted, dead-angle-free, low-consumption and high-efficiency disinfection and sterilization effects, significantly reduce the load of pathogenic microorganisms on public contact surfaces, provide new technical support for urban public health safety protection, and truly launch a new intelligent era of elevator handrail disinfection and sterilization.
