Metabolic syndrome is a clinical syndrome characterized by a cluster of metabolic disorders, including obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, and dyslipidemia. Its pathogenesis is complex and involves multiple interacting factors, posing a serious threat to human health. The theory of “Continuous Circulation of Qi,” derived from classical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), emphasizes the uninterrupted circulation of qi throughout the body and the coordinated functioning of the zang-fu organs. Based on this theory, this article systematically analyzes the pathogenesis and progression of metabolic syndrome and explores its guiding significance for syndrome differentiation and comprehensive clinical intervention. The aim is to provide new perspectives and approaches for the theoretical study and clinical practice of TCM in the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome.
