Abstract

With the continuous development of smart hospitals, information technology has increasingly become an important means of optimizing healthcare service processes, improving service quality, and enhancing patients’ healthcare experience. Focusing on problems such as complicated procedures, long waiting times, and information asymmetry in registration, waiting, examination, diagnosis and treatment, and doctor–patient communication, this study analyzes the application pathways of information technology in smart hospitals. The study finds that online appointment systems and intelligent guidance and triage can optimize healthcare processes and improve the efficiency of medical resource allocation. Electronic medical records, medical data sharing, telemedicine, and AI-assisted diagnosis can enhance the continuity and accessibility of healthcare services. Online consultation platforms and healthcare service evaluation and feedback systems can expand channels for doctor–patient communication and improve patient engagement and satisfaction. Meanwhile, the application of information technology still faces challenges related to data security, privacy protection, and insufficient system integration and compatibility. Accordingly, healthcare institutions should strengthen medical data security management, promote the standardization and interoperability of information systems, and facilitate the deeper integration of information technology with actual healthcare service scenarios. The findings may provide a reference for smart hospitals seeking to continuously optimize healthcare service models and improve patients’ healthcare experience.
