Abstract

With the rapid iteration of disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and algorithmic recommendations, the global public opinion ecosystem is undergoing profound reshaping. In the international public opinion sphere involving China, disruptive technologies on the one hand provide new tools and channels for telling China's story well, and on the other hand, they have given rise to unprecedented public opinion risks. The industrialization of false information generation and dissemination, cognitive lock-in caused by algorithmic bias, the truth crisis triggered by deepfake technology, and the false consensus manipulated by social bots constitute the main risks of current public opinion involving China. Systematic responses should be taken from multiple dimensions, including technological governance, institutional improvement, content innovation, and international cooperation.
