Abstract

Given the abstract and decontextualized nature of traditional instruction on chemical equilibrium shifts in senior high school chemistry, this study employs the traditional craft of Sophora japonica flower dyeing as a real-life contextualized teaching resource. Based on the reversible color reaction between rutin and aluminum ions, a series of controlled group experiments were designed to investigate the effects of aluminum ion concentration, hydrogen ion concentration, and temperature on chemical equilibrium shifts, thereby facilitating students’ understanding of Le Chatelier’s principle. This teaching model constructs an integrated instructional process consisting of “context introduction—experimental inquiry—model construction—practical application—cultural inheritance.” It reduces the cognitive difficulty of abstract theoretical concepts, simultaneously cultivates students’ core competencies in evidence-based reasoning and scientific inquiry, and promotes the integration of intangible cultural heritage with chemistry education. The study provides a replicable practical pathway for contextualizing abstract principles in senior high school chemistry teaching.
